SUO acoustics story


SUO is a part of Suomi (Finland)

The name of our interior acoustics store "Suo" means an ecosystem rich in natural values, where less water evaporates than rains on the ground. This is why plant remains form peat. The Nordic countries are favorable area for bogs, because the decomposition of plants is slower in cold and damp environments. Finland is the sixth swampiest country in the world, so our peat resources are abundant. Swamp is also part of our country's name, which tells about the importance of swamps in our country's history. The bogs also have a special mystical beauty and exoticism. You can also feel it through this almost magical picture below (Nocturne by Sirpa Kesäläinen). 


The treasure of swamp

There are lot of stories of the swamps that are told in folktales. The swamp is a place where you can go to calm down and experience the diversity and beauty of nature and passage of time. A lot of archeological finds have been found in the bogs, because proper organic decomposition does not take place in the bogs. Our story begins from the swamp too. We also have found a treasure from the swamp; The Konto acoustic panel made of surface peat of Finnish Swamps.
